The ACS Division of Fluorine Chemistry and the ACS Division of Organic Chemistry had organized a two-day Symposium (March 24 -25, 2025) honoring Professor G. K. Surya Prakash for his Pioneering Contributions in Organofluorine Chemistry and Organic Synthetic Methodology at the 2025 American Chemical Society Spring Meeting in San Diego, CA. The symposium with 25 presentations were well attended with contributions from 16 of his students and postdocs from US, Canada, China and Europe from Academia, Industry and National Labs. The Symposium was followed by a Banquet, which was also well attended. At the Banquet, USC alumnus, Dr. Pradeep Iyer established an annual $1000 Graduate Student Award in Surya Prakash’s name in the Division of Fluorine Chemistry.
