Ask Me About: Thinking about Anthropology? As an Anthropology major, I am more than happy to answer any questions ranging from what Anthropology is all about, to sharing my personal interests and journey toward this field. My current interests include women’s and gender studies, East Asian studies, and the arts and literature. I love reading about history and texts that focus on women’s realities. I am currently working on East Asian museum development and a creative VR project at the Ganek Studio at SCA, exploring ethnographic media arts. I can’t wait to celebrate the effervescence of Anthropology
with you!

Advice: Anthropology is a way of thinking. What I love the most about Anthropology is that it allows us to question “what we think we know”— including the assumptions shape our reality. My advice to prospective students is to stay curious and be inquisitive. Having a child’s eye view to look at the world is one of the most beautiful things. Anthropology is also an interdisciplinary field, so I highly recommend taking classes across subjects. Reading a variety of text types will enhance our critical thinking skills, the ability to think beyond hegemonic narratives.
