USC Sea Grant’s New Children’s Book
USC Sea Grant is excited to share our new children’s picture book featuring two shipping container friends, Connie and Connor, and their adventure around the world!
About the Book
Follow container friends, Connie and Conner, on a typical container route, beginning by ship from Taiwan to the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, to Chicago by train, and back around the world to Taiwan. Join them on their adventures with ocean wildlife, massive cranes, trucks, and trains, as they deliver basketball shoes and soccer balls to stores!
The shipping industry and the global supply chain have been gaining public interest; this book serves as a tool for educators and parents to help explain the complicated global process to their children with the help of gorgeous watercolor illustrations and fun, interactive text.
