Summary Statement of Research Interests
My main research interests are focused on the way senses, especially vision and hearing, participate in creation of the political in late Soviet culture. I am currently working on my dissertation project, in which I think about how popular culture of perestroika was defining the limits of what could be voiced and depicted in a rapidly changing cultural and political environment.
