Biography

Jessica Walker is a fourth-year Ph.D student specializing in Comparative Politics and Methods and Research Tools. Her broader academic interest lie at the intersection of social movements, conflict studies, and environmental politics. More concretely, she is interested in the role that ideology, tactics, and organizational frameworks play in the emergence and duration of protests, civil wars, revolutions, and other forms of contentious politics. 

Jessica was born in Madrid, Spain and speaks four languages (English, Spanish, Italian, French). She holds an MSc in Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics and a BA in Political Science and Francophone Studies from UMass Amherst. Prior to becoming a PhD student, she worked as a Research Associate at Harvard University.
