U.S.-Asia GSP Fellow 2023-2024

Edward Goldring is an incoming Lecturer in Comparative Politics at the University of Melbourne. He studies authoritarian politics, mainly from a global comparative perspective, and is particularly interested in North Korea. He is currently working on two main projects: a book manuscript that examines the causes and effects of elite purges, and a project about how dictators manage elites to facilitate succession that uses quantitative and qualitative data from North Korea. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Missouri in 2020.
