Today’s story features two of JEP’s most dedicated long term supporters: Deena and Mitchell Lew!

Not only are they JEP alumni, they also continue to support and volunteer with JEP to this day. Mitchell Lew still has fond memories of JEP. He shared that at the end of his semester at the local elementary school one of the little girls gave him a trinket as a thank you. “It was a thoughtful gesture that has stayed with me as a fond memory of JEP.”

Deena Lew also shared that her experience with JEP eventually lead her to become a teacher. She enjoyed her classroom experience so much that after graduation she returned to school, got her multiple subject credential and became a teacher.

Finally, they also shared, “because of the good experience we had, both of our children, Amanda ’13 and Troy ’16, are also JEP alumni.”

We always love hearing from alumni who convince their family to participate in JEP as well due to the love they feel for the program and the impact it had on themselves as college students. Knowing that Deena & Mitchell also support us so many years later proves their dedication to what JEP stands for and we are incredibly grateful that they are still a big part of our JEP family.
