Background
I am a proud native of Southern California and a life-long Trojan. It is a privilege to represent our great university and share how USC is changing lives through education and research. USC Dornsife is especially vibrant with innovative education programs, groundbreaking research and leadership focused on activating important research in our communities and around the world.
Favorite USC Initiatives
The Dornsife Signature Undergraduate Experience (especially experiential learning) is important to me because it enhances the strengths of a liberal arts education and enriches the student experience. I am also excited about the USC Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability and all the terrific work in sustainability at our lab on Catalina Island. The Center for Political Future also stands out for its incredible events and programs that model respectful debate and prepare students for careers in public service and lifelong civic engagement.
Favorite USC Memory
Commencement is always a wonderful day of celebration, but 2016 was especially great because that is when my daughter graduated with her undergraduate degree. I must admit that 2019 also stands out as the culmination of my own graduate school journey (I got to wear that exceptional cardinal USC academic regalia!).
What I support
The Kuhn Lab (cancer research), the English Department, and service-learning at the USC Joint Educational Project.
