State of Immigrants in LA (SOILA) 2024 Survey

ByERI Communications

As we approach the 5th annual State of Immigrants in L.A. County (SOILA) summit in 2024, we aim to investigate immigrant data over time to uplift key trends and assess whether L.A. County decision-makers have been accountable to immigrant communities through a public perception survey. In response to calls for more accountability from entities with the power to make L.A. County a place where immigrants thrive, SOILA 2024 is a 1.0 scorecard to be expanded upon in years to come.

The goal of the survey will be to gather perceptions from at least 250 migrants and those with at least one immigrant parent, about their lived experiences as they relate to each of ERI’s Immigrant Inclusion pillars.

  1. Economic Mobility: Making a Future
  2. Civic Engagement: Building Community
  3. Warmth of Welcome: Finding A Home

The survey is entirely online and should take about 15 minutes to complete, majority of the questions are multiple-choice with minimal write-in responses. To remain inclusive and capture the experiences of as many Angelenos as possible, the survey can be completed using web browsers on most cellular devices. In addition to English, respondents have the option to complete the survey in the following languages:

  • Arabic
  • Farsi
  • French
  • Korean
  • Mandarin
  • Spanish
  • Tagalog
  • Thai
  • Vietnamese

To honor their time and commitment to complete this survey, respondents have the option to enter a raffle for an online $50 gift card. To enter the raffle, respondents will enter their email address at the beginning of the survey which will be removed from our records after winners are contacted (to be selected randomly from submissions and distributed by ERI by the end of March 2024).
