The Department of Economics and the Empirical Research Paper Committee is thrilled to award 4Y PhD in Economics student Jingshu Chen with the Outstanding 3Y Paper Award in recognition of his talent, fortitude, and potential.

For his paper, Western Medicine Adoption in Historical China: Role of Clans and Other Social Capitals, Chen will receive $6,000 in funding for Summer 2026 to continue supporting his research and contributions.
