ABOUT

The East Asian Studies Center (EASC) was formed in 1960 at the University of Southern California (USC) to provide dedicated leadership, coordination and support for the growing interdisciplinary education, research activity and community outreach concerning East Asia (China, Japan and Korea). In addition to being an academic department under USC Dornsife College, EASC has been recognized as one of the nation's leading centers for the development of East Asian studies with over 100 USC faculty in over 40 departments and schools affiliated with the Center today. EASC also has over 500 undergraduate and graduate student affiliates who actively participate in over 40 annual events, summer study abroad programs and professional development and funding opportunities that the Center provides each year.
