Caje Kindred Weigandt
Biography
I’m a fourth-year PhD candidate working with Dr. James Dolan in the Active Tectonics group at the University of Southern California. My interests in geoscience include, but are not limited to, tectonic geomorphology, paleoseismology, geochronology, fault and rock mechanics, and seismic hazard analysis.
My current research is largely focused on spatiotemporal trends in the slip rate and paleoseismic record of the Sierra Madre-Cucamonga reverse fault system, which is responsible for uplift of the San Gabriel Mountains north of Los Angeles. I have additional projects in development related to the right-lateral San Andreas and San Jacinto faults, as well as the potential covariance of strike-slip fault slip rates and how these relationships might improve consideration of fault slip rate uncertainty in seismic hazard analysis.
As I approach the end of my PhD, I’m also in search of interesting post-doc opportunities 🙂
