News for Mac users: Wait to upgrade to Tahoe, and Legacy Outlook is retiring
- Apple has released MacOS 26 Tahoe, but DTS recommends waiting to upgrade. Currently, the USC Office of Cybersecurity and DTS are both testing the new operating system for compatibility with USC systems, including SentinelOne and PaperCut.
- Microsoft is retiring Legacy Outlook for Mac this month. If you are still using Legacy Outlook, you can update it by clicking the toggle in the upper right. (Don’t see a toggle? You are already on the latest version, no action needed.)

Reminders: Google Drive storage limits and Windows 10 retiring
- Google Drive storage: As of last month, USC Google accounts that exceed the 100 GB storage allowance are restricted to read-only access. You can follow our guide for reviewing and reducing usage or request a quota increase (fee applies).
- Windows 11 upgrades: After October 14, 2025, Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10 and will no longer provide important security updates. DTS has been emailing Dornsife faculty and staff still using Windows 10 to offer upgrade assistance and, as needed, support with alternatives.
