Windows 10 is retiring in October: Get ready to upgrade!

If you are using a Windows 10 computer, be aware that Microsoft is retiring Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, and will stop providing important security updates after this date. To protect your computer, you will need to upgrade to Windows 11.
Over the next month, DTS will email Dornsife faculty and staff using Windows 10 to offer upgrade assistance and, as needed, support with alternatives. For instance, researchers may be using older computers which are upgrade-incompatible but performing essential research tasks: we can help you move to an extended support release of Windows 10.
Not sure if you have Windows 10 or 11? One quick way to tell is by looking at your Start menu:
- Windows 10: Start menu is located in the lower left corner
- Windows 11: Start menu is centered at the bottom of the desktop

Instructional signage is coming to Dornsife network printers

Over the coming weeks, DTS will be adding laminated instructions to Dornsife network printers. This signage will provide clear usage guidance and DTS’s contact information for support, and we hope that they will be particularly helpful for anyone new to the Dornsife network printers.
If you have any questions or you have concerns about replacing existing printer signage, please let us know.
