USC Sea Grant 2024 Knauss Fellow shares tips for translating your science into policy

During his participation in the 2024 John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship program through USC Sea Grant, Tanner Waters was placed on the House Natural Resources Committee’s Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife, and Fisheries. There, he gained hands-on experience in policymaking and training on how science informs important decisions in topics such as habitat restoration, wildlife protection, and more.

Having sat in countless meetings with members of federal agencies, researchers, and other stakeholders, Waters shares communications tips for scientists sharing new research with general audiences.
