USC experts discuss how attention turns toward California this election season as the state leads trends in political, economic, environmental, and social change in the nation. California’s influence includes pioneering diversity in elected leadership, shaping policies on election misinformation, and leading environmental action.

“Survey research tells us that Americans across the country are becoming more liberal on many social issues, including those at the intersection of the environment and people. This is a trend that has been emerging for decades with California at the vanguard,” said Wrigley Institute Director Joe Árvai.
