Biography

I began my first year as a PhD student at USC in 2022. My past research has focused on bacterial systems, active matter and bio-materials. My primary focus was on the link between the microscopic parameters of material derivatives of bacterial systems and the macro-scale properties of the material itself. My current research interests involve cellular mechanics and motion in microscopic systems as well as the intersection between biological systems and sustainable advancements in renewable energy, biofuel creation and water treatment. I have recently begun working under Dr. El-Naggar in USC’s NanoBio Group where I am applying experimental techniques to understand chiral induced spin selectivity within electro-bacterial electron transport pathways.
