What is QPR Training?
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer. QPR is a suicide prevention training, specifically tailored for USC students, faculty & staff. In this 60-minute training you will learn the following:
- How to Question, Persuade and Refer someone who may be suicidal
- How to get help for yourself or learn more about preventing suicide
- The common causes of suicidal behavior
- The warning signs of suicide
- How to get help for someone in crisis

Interested in FREE QPR Training for your class, staff and/or department?
We offer both peer-to-peer student training for students by our QPR trained instructors (Michael Amato & Samuel Ingram) & for staff/faculty by Dr. Marcos Briano. Upon completion of the training all participants will receive a certificate. This training may be added to resumes/CVs.

Michael Amato
Michael Amato is a sophomore undergraduate student at USC and is currently studying Public Policy with a concentration in Law and a minor in Management Consulting. Understanding that the societal stigmatization of conversations surrounding mental health is one of the most significant issues facing society, Michael is keenly interested in the intersection of government programs and outreach to minority populations within the realm of mental health care.
Samuel Ingram
Samuel Ingram is a sophomore undergraduate student at USC and is currently studying Psychology with a minor in Addiction Sciences. He is interested in becoming a clinical psychologist and seeks to develop a better understanding of effective suicide prevention measures. He is also interested in identifying the correlations between substance abuse and suicidal behavior.
