Track Champions
USC men’s track and field team took fifth place in the 2015 NCAA Track and Field Championship hosted by the University of Oregon at Hayward Field in Eugene. At the competition, the USC women’s team took seventh place, marking the first top 10 finish for both squads since the women were eighth and the men 10th in 2009.
Highlighted by sociology major Andre De Grasse’s show-stopping performance, the USC men’s team scored 40.5 points, the fifth-most ever for the program under the current scoring system. The Trojans were led by the junior sprinter’s eye-popping sweep of the 100 meter and 200 meter titles as well as history major Conor McCullough’s individual crown in the hammer throw. They also received points from three freshmen, paving the road for future growth in the team competition.
