Ad Astra Per Aspera
Artists José Gonzalez (Goez Art Studio) and Robert Arenivar painted the mural Ad Astra per Aspera (“To the Stars through Struggle”) on the facade of El Centro Chicano at the University of Southern California. It was the first and (possibly) only artwork to be completed as part of a citywide proposal to paint 1,500 murals in L.A. in celebration of the Bicentennial.
