Sunyoung Park | Director, Korean Studies Institute

Sunyoung Park is an associate professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures in the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and the Interim Director of the USC Korean Studies Institute.

Her research areas include modern and contemporary Korean literature and culture; postcolonial studies; transnational anarchism and Marxism; feminism and gender studies; science fiction and technoculture studies.

She teaches various courses on Korean literature and culture, gender and feminist theories, and East Asian science fiction.

Gloria Koo | Associate Director, Korean Studies Institute

Gloria Koo is Associate Director at the Korean Studies Institute (KSI) at USC. In addition to managing the programming and operation of the Institute, she researches on the topics of international political economy and U.S.-Asia relations. At USC, she has taught Korean, research design and political economy. Previously, she worked as an foreign direct investment consultant for a Korean government agency. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Southern California, and B.A. from Stanford University.

Jay Lee | Program Specialist, Korean Studies Institute

Jay Lee is Program Specialist at the Korean Studies Institute at USC. As program specialist, Jay assists in programming and event logistics as well as the day-to-day operations of the Institute. Jay is also involved with foreign policy advocacy, writing on U.S.-North Korea relations and diplomacy. They received their B.A. in Political Science and International Relations as well as their M.A. in Public Diplomacy from USC.
