Background

I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit playing ice hockey (like many fellow Michiganders!) which ultimately led me to Brown University where I was a four-year letterwinner on the varsity team. My experience at Brown was truly life-changing and after a brief professional hockey career, I knew that what I wanted to do next was to help enhance the student experience in a higher education setting. Working in Advancement has afforded me this opportunity and I am thrilled to be able to make an impact by doing the work I am most passionate about here at the University of Southern California, a world-class institution.

Why USC?

My early Advancement career had been focused on athletics development, but I was eager to broaden my scope and fundraise for academic initiatives and programs. More specifically, I was looking for opportunities at an institution that was globally recognized for its tradition of academic excellence and had a mission, culture, and leadership vision that I believed in. I have found all of this and more at USC Dornsife! It is so energizing to work alongside and learn from such a talented and diverse group of students, staff, faculty, and alumni. I feel fortunate every day to be part of such an amazing community.

Favorite USC Initiative

The Joint Educational Project (JEP) is a program I’ve really gravitated toward. The service-learning opportunities that our incredible JEP staff provides to all USC students not only have a tremendous impact on our students’ personal academic experiences, but also contribute to the betterment of the entire USC campus and surrounding community, including nearby schools, students, community-based organizations, healthcare facilities, and legal clinics.
