Requests for cosponsorship

CIS cosponsors conferences and events organized by other departments and student-led organizations. We are pleased to provide financial or administrative support for a limited number of activities each year.

Cosponsorship Guidelines
CIS requires that a written proposal including a budget (if applicable) be submitted to cis@dornsife.usc.edu. A separate proposal must be presented for each event or activity. Please include the following in each proposal:

● Type of Event
● Title
● Proposed date and time
● Event description
● Budget and amount requested (if applicable)
● CV or mini-bio of speaker(s)

Any cosponsorship funding request must be proposed to CIS at least four weeks in advance of the event to ensure that CIS has enough time to review the request and process the transfer of funds.

Groups receiving funding from CIS must include the center’s name as a cosponsor on all written or electronic publicity distributed in advance of the event.

Cosponsor Responsibilities
Each event lead sponsor is responsible for the following event logistics:
Creating publicity materials: flyer and ad submission to the Dornsife Events Calendar
Tracking of RSVPs if the lead sponsor chooses to track reservations
Setting up and cleaning up the CIS Seminar room, if the event is hosted in the CIS seminar room (SOS B40).
Submit a brief report with photos that CIS may use for publicity and reporting purposes, within 30 days after the event took place and no later than May 30 or the end of the semester, whichever is first.

Use of CIS Seminar room (SOS B40)

Use of SOS B40 during the academic year is limited. Please include in your proposal if you have a space for your event or would like to request the use of our seminar room.
