‘El Respiro / Respire’ calls attention to a green energy transition
Original story by Rachel B. Levin
On March 1, McCarthy Quad at USC University Park Campus will be the site of an act of protest against climate injustice during the event El Respiro / Respire, presented by USC Visions and Voices and organized by the USC Wrigley Institute.
The event, which will be led by artist and USC Roski School of Art and Design alumna Carolina Caycedo, invites attendees to participate in a geochoreography to spell out the words “Just Transition Now” in English and Spanish using their bodies.
Preceding the geochoreography will be a panel discussion with Caycedo and experts from Latin American and Los Angeles about just energy transition.
“This project is all about nurturing networks of solidarity and making a call to the academic community to join these networks of solidarity,” says Caycedo.
