USC Environmental Studies alumnus hopes to advance climate justice through policy work
Original story by Stephen Gee
Inspired by witnessing hardships in his own neighborhood in the Inland Empire, USC Environmental Studies alumnus Giancarlo Ceja has his sights set on advocating for communities impacted by rising temperatures and pollution.
“I want to focus on international climate justice, making sure that communities just like mine — very low-income, usually migrants, usually ethnic minorities, usually disadvantaged — can be properly equipped with the resources to fight climate change,” said Ceja, who plans to pursue a master’s in public policy and then a law degree in hopes to influence and draft policy.
