Opportunities on Campus
Please, take advantage of the opportunities on campus to enhance your language skills, your resume or just to have fun and be creative!
Language Exchange Program
The Language Exchange Program offers a platform to pair you with a native or near-native speaker of the language you are learning so you can expand your spoken communication skills, meet new friends, and be better able to engage with German native speakers here or abroad.
Certificate of Language Proficiency in 2 or more Languages
This certificate attests to students’ linguistic competency in at least two foreign languages. It promotes the study of languages beyond the foreign language requirement (FLAN III) in two key ways: 1) through more advanced coursework in one language that may then count toward the major or the minor and 2) through the study of additional languages.
Global Seal of Biliteracy
USC’s Global Seal of Biliteracy is a certificate and a digital badge that USC students can earn through participating in a cultural and linguistic immersion experience, and demonstrating Functional or Working Fluency through standardized testing that covers reading, writing, listening, and speaking in a language other than English. The USC Global Seal of Biliteracy is a standardized measurement of biliteracy skills, and is open to students who meet the requirements, regardless of their pathways to proficiency in their languages.
