Meet Katie Calvert, the Associate Director of Academic Honors and Fellowships for the Office of Undergraduate Programs, who is your “go-to-person” if you are considering to apply for scholarships and fellowships during your studies at USC and after graduation. The services of the office are available to every USC student and Alumni (up to 3 years after graduation).

As Associate Director of Academic Honors and Fellowships, Katie facilitates and promotes undergraduate student applications at USC for a wide variety of scholarships.  She and her team are the liaisons between USC students and awarding foundations. In addition to informing students, that is YOU, about different fellowship opportunities, she is guiding you through the application process by offering one-on-one advising, access to applications samples and connections to USC alumni, who have been successful recipients of fellowships. She also helps with the nomination process for those fellowships where the nomination by a faculty member is required.

Katie, a California native from San Gabriel did her undergraduate work at Northeastern University in Boston and her MA at UCLA. She has extensive international experience.  After graduation with an undergraduate degree in Spanish and Business, she started to work for “WorldTeach.” She lived for three years in Ecuador where she worked as a field director for the organization. Katie said to me that “she values international education” which also was the reason for her to start working at USC four years ago.

Please, take advantage of Katie’s passion for international education, and check out the services she and her colleagues offer to the USC undergraduate student population! Don’t wait till the fall before your graduation to think about post-graduation planning. It is helpful to plan ahead and to prepare your applications well in advance in order to be a truly competitive candidate at the time of your application!!!
