Welcome to the School of Religion

Few fields in the humanities can claim broader relevance to today’s world than religious studies. Religions have always inspired individuals and helped shaped society and politics. Religion has the power to unite or divide human communities.

Students in our interdisciplinary program explore and compare dozens of faith traditions across time and around the globe. This kind of study requires more than reading sacred scriptures. You can learn to analyze artworks and films, build databases, or create digital reconstructions, among other techniques for interpreting religions.

A degree in Religion can take you anywhere. Journalists, policy-makers, film makers all need to know how religions affects the lives of people around the world. Business execs must understand the religious contours of foreign markets. Politicians and lawyers must maneuver among the religious rights and of individuals and entire nations.

Come and discover the religions of past, present, and future in our fast-changing world.
