Daniel Spinelli

Dan Spinelli is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Southern California. He formerly worked as a national security journalist at Mother Jones and as a member of the China team at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C. His research interests include domestic security, education, and nationalism in East Asia. Dan’s current projects look broadly at Japan and Taiwan’s security ties and higher education policy in China.
