Emily Eid graduated with D’Evelyn High School’s class of 2020 in Denver, Colorado. She has been drawing for as long as she can remember, and pursued this passion by taking AP Drawing during her junior year of high school. When making her 24-piece portfolio for this class, she experimented with different kinds of media, including gold leaf, woodworking, scratchboard, and many others. Her speciality is portraiture and the human form, though she loves drawing anything around her. Seeing Monet’s beautiful landscapes at the Denver Art Museum on her 18th birthday inspired Emily to begin acrylic painting. Since then, she paints almost every day, often in the style that she calls “mosaic impressionism,” in which she uses vibrant patches of color to make forms. She sells her work on her Etsy store, MosaicImpressionsArt, and shows at art shows, most recently the 3rd Annual Women Artists–15th Quarterly Art Competition.
