Sabrina Niu, Art Editor

Mengyu (Sabrina) Niu is a junior from Beijing, China, majoring in Communication and minoring in Communication Design and Applied Analytics. She’s very happy to be a Palaver art editor, learning and spreading visual expressions of USC students. Beyond Palaver, she is also the head of Event Planning for USC CSSA. In her free time, she loves photography, musicals, collecting all kinds of admission tickets and dried flowers, and watching British TV series or k-dramas while she’s eating.

Maude Malone, Media Editor

Maude is a freshman majoring in Media Arts and Practices. She has a passion for art in all forms and is excited to take on an editorial role. Over the years, Maude has taken special interest in film, design, fashion, and writing and has had a few works published and gained some recognition. She is hopeful that she will be able to learn more about editorial work and help to provide a platform for others through which to connect and express themselves.

Stella Schabel, Art and Media Editor

Stella (’26) is a Media Arts + Practice major from London. In her spare time she enjoys exploring nature, watching movies and shows, rock climbing and cuddling her sausage dog, Marv. She loves creating things, from beading jewelry to animating shorts.

Maizy Zenger, Art and Media Editor

Maizy Zenger is a sophomore from Corpus Christi, Texas majoring in Cinema and Media Studies. She has a strong love for the arts, and practices photography, drawing, and creative writing in her free time. She has a strong interest in Production Design and Art Direction for Cinema and Interactive Media, and hopes to pursue Art Department work in her future career.

Jonathan Hayden, Poetry Editor

Jonathan Hayden is a junior from North Carolina studying creative writing and East Asian Language and Culture. In high school, they self-published a poetry book and have been reading and writing poetry ever since. They’re excited to be a part of Palaver to help create a magazine that reflects the talent and interests of USC students. When not reading something eclectic, they can be found playing guitar, going to concerts, or looking for cats.

Naya Dukkipati, Poetry Editor

Naya Dukkipati is from Dallas, Texas, and is double majoring in Public Policy and Economics. She has been published in a few literary journals, self-published her own poetry book, and works as a youth ambassador for a creative writing non-profit. She became interested in Palaver because of its commitment to helping aspiring writers and artists, and its encouragement of writing as a tool for socio-political advocacy. She can’t wait to help the magazine and bring out the creative spirit of USC students!

Grace Kim, Poetry Editor

Grace Kim is a second year student from Irvine, California, majoring in English with a Creative Writing emphasis and minoring in Screenwriting and the Cinematic Arts. As an Associate Poetry Editor at Palaver, she is excited to see the talent and to hear the voices of USC’s student poets. Her favorite book genres are historical fiction and slice of life, and outside of reading and writing, she loves watching movies, ballroom dancing, going to the beach, and all things cat related.

Janette Fu, Associate Prose Editor

Janette Fu is a sophomore majoring in journalism and is hoping to pursue a dual degree in business administration. She’s from L.A. and loves to read and write! Janette is also involved in various clubs and organizations such as the Daily Trojan where she works as an associate editor for the opinion section. In her free time, Janette enjoys drawing, hanging out with her friends, and binging various shows. She’s super excited to help bring stories to life and can’t wait to work with the Palaver community!

Luisa Luo, Associate Prose Editor

Luisa Luo is a freshman majoring in Comparative Literature and Sociology on a Pre-Law track. She was born and raised in Beijing, China, and moved to Orlando, Florida when she was 14. She is an avid writer,  and her pieces have been featured in The Cleaver Magazine and The Kenyon Review Young Writers Anthology and recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. She is a big fan of genre-busting and hopes to help more Trojans discover their creative voices while preserving the most important aspects of their identities!

Murleve Roberts, Prose Editor

Murleve is a sophomore from Palm Beach County, Florida majoring in Writing for Screen & Television. She loves storytelling in all of its forms and is excited to uplift her peers‘ voices as a first-time litmag staffer. In her free time, she can most easily be found streaming TV dramedies, trying to analyze her personality type, and goofing off with her friends.

Amy Cannon, Faculty Managing Editor

Amy Cannon is Associate Professor of Writing for Thematic Option. She received her MFA from UC Irvine and is the author of the chapbook “the interior desert” (Californios Press) and the mini-chapbook “to make a desert” (Platypus Press). Her work can be found in Bone Bouquet, LETTERS, LIT, and Rock & Sling, among other places.  She is delighted to oversee this stellar group of editors.
