mostly I wake up and try not to think about love, try not to let the day slip feet-out on the red-slimed river rocks, tossed hot and cold, loose and spinning over and over, watching angels of hermit crabs, idaho angels

 

mostly it’s yesterday again, mostly the skies running, pink red paints, hands drying in decades of dirt in the back lot, afternoons among the rusted over industrial equipment, the california sun, the vending machine coffee where you pick out the ants, where every beautiful boy has a perfect childhood girlfriend and you’ve committed some new sin in staring at the back of his neck
