NGSP is accepting SI Leader applications for the Fall 2025 semester and hiring for the course openings listed below:

Supplemental Instruction Leaders work up to 15 hours/week depending on which course they lead. Serving as an SI leader is a great opportunity to develop your leadership and communication skills as well as sharpen your knowledge in the subjects you are reviewing in your sessions. SI Leader Responsibilities

SI aims to provide a structure where learners develop critical thinking skills, become empowered to take ownership of knowledge and have agency over academic outcomes.

  • The SI Leader facilitates 3-4 fifty-minute SI sessions of the target course per week throughout the semester, using strategies learned through the SI Leader training and staff meetings. 
  • Attend all target course lectures and engage with course material
  • The SI Leader will track attendance in every SI session.  These records will be used to track the effectiveness of the program based on use and on comparisons of use and final course grade.
  • Attend a mandatory training session the week before classes begin.

 

Qualifications

  • Cumulative USC GPA of 3.5 or greater
  • Complete target course at USC with A- or better*
  • Must maintain at least 6 units of registered USC coursework
  • Previous tutoring experience preferred but not required

*In-progress coursework does not satisfy qualifications to apply. Applicants must have completed the target course and received a final grade prior to applying. 

 

SI leaders are paid $17.28/hour and work between 10-15 hours/week.
