    • Tests are online and offered on selected dates throughout the academic year.
    • Registration is required. 
      • Click on the exam event you want.
      • The click on “Register.”
      • After you log in, click on “Request Permission.”
      • Please note: there is no confirmation of your successful registration.
    • There is no fee for taking a placement exam.

  • Take Chemistry, Math, and Spanish placement exams through Orientation Programs Pre-registration Checklist.

    After matriculation to USC, see “Current Students” information.

  • Tests through Orientation Programs: Incoming undergraduate students – freshmen and transfers – who have not registered with OSAS, take placement exams through the Orientation Pre-Registration Checklist.

    • By the honor system, students can select extended time for their placement exams during their orientation reservation and USC Orientation Programs staff will grant the requests even if not yet approved by OSAS. Extended time is only for placement exams and students will still need to go through established OSAS processes for accommodations related to their courses and future placement exams.
    • Students can expect to see the time extension granted between 1-2 business days after making a reservation for orientation. There is no email confirmation or notification once the extension has been granted, but students are welcome to check in at orient@usc.edu if they experience any issues or have additional questions. Please note that extended test time is only available for online placement exams.

    Tests for current students: Exams are offered on specific dates. Only currently registered, matriculating undergraduates can access the registration site for Math and Chemistry placement exams.

    • Accommodations for extended time need to be arranged by the student through OSAS at least one week in advance of the desired exam date.
    • Testing & Assessment will provide students with extended time only after being contacted in writing by OSAS. Students who have not been approved for extended time can take exams without extended time on their desired date or reschedule for after they have been approved for extended time and OSAS notifies Testing & Assessment
