Story #5: Asma Saraj
This week, we hear from Asma Saraj, who participated in JEP as a student from 1987 to 1989. Now an OB/GYN at Kaiser Permanente, Saraj describes herself as “a true Cardinal and Gold Trojan,” as she attended USC for her undergraduate, medical school, and residency education!
“I was fortunate to develop and found two volunteer programs: the USC Literacy Project and USC Spirits in Action during my junior and senior year…. [This led] to one of the most rewarding experiences – JEP helped me organize and recruit student volunteers in helping our surrounding community during those years… The lessons I learned at JEP continue to help guide me to this day in my various commitments, more than 30 years later!”
