EASC Taiwanese Documentary Series – featuring FU Yue and HO Chao-ti

The third and final installment of the EASC Taiwanese Documentary Series featured three film screenings, a panel with columnist Mr. Chang Tieh-chih and USC faculty Stanley Rosen and Daniel Lynch, and a Q&A session with the filmmakers Fu Yue and Ho Chao-ti. Over 100 students, faculty, and community members gathered to watch the feature film, Sunflower Occupation, which detailed the progression of the historic Sunflower Movement, which saw hundreds of students occupying the Taiwanese parliamentary building for weeks and hundreds of thousands of demonstrators outside. Lively discussions took place during both the afternoon panel and the evening Q&A with the filmmakers.

EASC Taiwanese Documentary Series – featuring KE Chin-yuan

The second installment of this three-part series attracted over 100 people from USC and the wider community throughout the two days of the event on the USC campus and at the USC Pacific Asia Museum. The three films screened covered topics such as water and air pollution in Taiwan and the plight of the whale shark. The screenings were followed by an engaging Q&A moderated by professors Stanley Rosen and Daniel Lynch and questions from the audience for renowned filmmaker Director Ke Chin-yuan.

EASC Taiwanese Documentary Series – featuring HUANG Chia-chun

The inaugural EASC Taiwanese Documentary Series event with Director Huang Chia-chun attracted over 250 people from USC and the wider community throughout the day. The feature film Rock Me to the Moon and the Q&A with the director proved to be the event’s highlight as crowds gathered in the Ray Stark Family Theatre for the film and the rare opportunity to interact with the filmmaker in person. The event also received coverage by several Chinese media outlets.
