New IT procurement specialist

We’re excited to welcome our new staff member, Jimmy Lira. Jimmy comes to DTS from Apple and he will be working with Dornsife faculty and staff on procurement tickets, among other IT procurement and inventory control responsibilities.

Please continue to use the DTS service catalog to place your procurement requests.

Upcoming computer remediations

In the coming weeks, DTS will be opening tickets requiring action for some older Windows and Mac computers. Faculty and staff who are using an impacted older computer will receive an email with further information.

AI updates from ITS

Required cybersecurity training

Responsible Use of AI Tools (login required) has now been assigned to all USC faculty and staff in Trojanlearn. This 20-minute session provides practical guidance on how to use AI technologies safely, ethically, and in alignment with University policies.

Tool comparison resource

ITS’s updated AI product matrix can help you decide which University-approved AI tool to use based on your data classification level. As of this fall, ChatGPT Edu is now approved for use with confidential data.

AI general policy

The University’s AI general policy was revised on Sept 1. It does not affect AI tool reviews already underway with the USC Office of Cybersecurity, but DTS is assessing the changes and will be updating the Dornsife procurement process.
