Macs: Upgrade to the latest macOS

ByDornsife Technology Services

Apple is no longer providing support to older macOS versions. If your Mac is running an older version, you will receive an email from DTS (excerpted below):

Your USC computer is running an older version of the Mac operating system. Because Apple no longer supports this older version, your computer may be vulnerable to security exploits.

Keeping your computer up to date protects your files and information against malware and viruses. Using the latest supported macOS versions also ensures that your Mac is also running the latest version of SentinelOne, USC’s official security software.

If you received this email, we are asking that you upgrade to Ventura (recommended), Monterey, or Big Sur. You can follow our step-by-step instructions for upgrading your Mac.
