Biography
Maxwell Shiller is a PhD candidate broadly interested in the interactions between ancient societies, their economies, and the environments of the Mediterranean. His dissertation explores how technological shifts in shipbuilding and agriculture during the Hellenistic period impacted the economic and political power of the Rhodian state. He currently serves as an Assistant Lecturer in Classics and a Levan Graduate Scholar in the Society of Fellows in the Humanities.
