Historical Political Economy (HPE) is a rapidly growing interdisciplinary field, but it has not benefited from an annual conference where scholars can workshop cutting-edge papers on topics like state-building, economic development, colonialism, nationalism, and globalism. This 2024 conference – and planned conferences in succeeding years – will remedy this situation.

We invite you to participate in this inaugural conference by indicating your interest as a prospective a presenter, discussant, or attendee. Please fill out this form as per your interest.

Limited funding is available for participants who have a formal role in the conference. If you kindly agree to be a presenter, you are expected to submit a draft of the paper no later than a week before the conference begins.

We would be happy to answer any questions; email us at CIS@dornsife.usc.edu.
