Manager
Kayla Koerting manages the Fellows Program at the USC Dornsife Center for the Political Future.
Prior to joining CPF, she organized for congressional campaigns and served as the Legislative Affairs Manager for the Valley Industry & Commerce Association (VICA), an influential business group in the San Fernando Valley, where she lobbied public officials at the City, County, State, and Federal levels on behalf of 350 regional businesses.
A proud USC Trojan, Kayla graduated with a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Law from the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences with a minor in Education and Society from the USC Rossier School of Education. During her undergraduate work, she was actively involved with CPF, participating in multiple political internships, the Inside Iowa Project, USC Political Union (formerly known as the Unruh Associates), and many of CPF’s events and summits. She also spent a lot of her undergraduate time abroad, with a summer at Cambridge, two summers working in China, and a semester working at the Scottish Parliament. While at USC, she earned a Global Scholar Distinction, a Discovery Scholar Distinction, and membership into Phi Beta Kappa.
Currently, Kayla is pursuing an MS in Data Analytics and Policy from Johns Hopkins University, and she will graduate in 2026 with an emphasis in Political Behavior and Policy Analysis.
Kayla is a California native, and she spends her weekends exploring the great outdoors or enjoying the food that LA has to offer. She also loves to attend concerts at the USC Thornton School of Music, where she once studied classical trombone and participated in the University’s ensembles. Her political passions include public transit equity, education access, and voting rights.
