Cameron Trimble said this about his experience at USC’s Center for the Political Future: “Being a CPF Fellow was eye-opening. I got a real sense of where college students are with their political knowledge and how they feel about different policies and what’s going on in campaigns. Plus, the other Fellows were awesome – I learned so much from their talks and stories. Honestly, the energy and enthusiasm of the students made me feel super hopeful about the future leaders coming up! If I had to pick a favorite part, it would be the climate conference. Seeing CPF pull off such a big and impactful day, with so many students from all over campus and bringing back some big names and former Fellows, it was amazing to be a part of this and I look forward to staying engaged with the program.”

USC students in Cameron’s study group shared this about their experience:

I gained a deeper understanding of how policy is shaped through dialogue between diverse perspectives. Engaging directly with experts and peers challenged me to think critically about complex political issues and sharpen my communication skills. My favorite part was the open, candid discussions where I could ask questions and exchange ideas with people who brought real-world experience to the table. The collaborative environment expanded my knowledge and inspired me to stay engaged in public service and civic discourse.”

My favorite part was the wealth of networking opportunities and insights I gained from the many incredible guest speakers Cameron brought into our sessions, as well as from his own lectures. I gained valuable knowledge about different career paths in public service, practical advice on professional development, and a deeper understanding of the political world from individuals who have successfully navigated it. The experience broadened my perspective and helped me feel more confident in pursuing a career in public service.”

Cameron shared his thoughts on the importance of politics, his first political experience, his advice for having respectful political discourse, and what he appreciates about CPF in his “Quick Takes: Q&A with CPF Fellow Cameron Trimble” video.
