Anthropology is about…

    Bridging differences

You’ll develop the kinds of skill and insight necessary to successfully work and negotiate across cultural differences.

    Qualitative research

You’ll gain experience conducting qualitative research into human social forms, building on anthropology’s strong tradition of immersive and engaged participant-observation research.

    Social analysis

You’ll learn the major concepts, questions and theoretical approaches in anthropology and the humanistic social sciences, and how to use social theory in the description and analysis of social life and human experience.

    Critical thinking, writing, and communication

You’ll gain skills in critical thinking and expository writing, with an emphasis on social analysis, empirical evidence and intercultural understanding.

You’ll also find opportunities to learn how to communicate anthropological insights through other modalities, such as digital media, film and video.
