Eve Sperling
Biography
Eve Sperling is a third-year PhD student in the Department of Art History and is a participant in the Visual Studies Graduate Certificate. In the 2024–2025 academic year, she was also a NEH/VSRI Seminar Graduate Fellow. Eve’s research is centered on late medieval and early modern art, particularly the art and visual culture of Northern Europe. She is interested in instances of exchange and translation between distinct artistic mediums, especially in relation to textiles. Before attending USC, Eve received her BA in Studio Art from Pitzer College and completed her MA in The History of Art and Archeology at the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU. More recently, she won a Kress Fellowship to attend the German School at Middlebury College. Eve has worked in a variety of art institutions, and in 2023 served as Adrienne Arsht Intern in the Department of European Sculpture and Decorative Arts at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
