Biographical Sketch
Christian Grose is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Southern California. His research interests include American political institutions, Congress, the Presidency, the bureaucracy, legislative representation, elections, distributive public policy, race and politics, research methods, and field experiments. Christian is the author of Congress in Black and White: Race and Representation in Washington and at Home (Cambridge University Press, 2011). In addition, he has published more than 15 peer-reviewed articles in scholarly journals such as the American Journal of Political Science, the British Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, Legislative Studies Quarterly, Polity, and Presidential Studies Quarterly; and 8 book chapters/other publications. Christian received the 2010 CQ Press award for the best paper on legislative studies presented at the American Political Science Association meeting. He is also a previous recipient of the Carl Albert award for the best dissertation in legislative politics from the American Political Science Association.

Research Specialties
American Government and Political Institutions (first project: legislative representation, race, and voting rights policy; second project: political institutions, specifically legislatures and the executive branch). Political Methodology (IRT models/ideal point estimation, field experiments, elite interviews).
