Our events in Spring 2025 are designed to provide you with support related to the application process. Your response helps us better understand how to serve you during this important time in your pre-health journey.
About the Program
Each Spring, the Pre-Health Advising Office runs the Applicant Review Program for students in preparation for health professional school applications. Led by the Executive Director, Dr. Molly Lancaster, the program involves structured support for participants including guided reflection, dynamic checklists, and personal statement review. The 2025 Applicant Review Program is Self-Guided to help you navigate your application at your own pace.
Here’s an overview of our 2025 Health Professional School Applicant Review Program:
Dynamic Checklists
Dynamic checklists are provided to help you navigate the self-guided modules in Brightspace and prepare for your advising appointments to optimize our feedback. You can proceed with the modules at your own pace.
Reserved Advising Sessions
We will reserve two appointments for you to meet with a staff advisor and/or director. Please do not book appointments through Advise USC – we will share a private link for booking your reserved Applicant Review appointments once you have completed the required modules.
Professional Mentorship Coffee Chats
Special guest mentors and Dr. Lancaster will be hosting coffee chats discussing the mindset and mental stamina needed to persevere through the application process.
Personal Statements
Every applicant will receive priority review of their final personal statement upon successful completion of the program.
Applicant Review Handbook
If you need help getting started on your research and planning for your application to health professions schools, we have compiled a handbook meant to complement your application efforts. Feel to free to reference the handbook as needed, but keep in mind that nothing replaces 1:1 assistance.
