Welcome to USC’s Minds in Development Lab!
We study the social-cognitive development of children between 1 and 6/7 years of age.
The general idea guiding our research is that humans have a unique form of sociality that is absent in other animals. For example, only humans share experiences, ideas, and knowledge by teaching and engaging in other collaborative forms of learning from others. We investigate the early development of these human abilities and study the social-cognitive infrastructure that supports them.
