U.S.-Asia GSP Fellow 2023-2024

Gaea Morales is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Southern California. She studies how global norms translate into local action. She approaches her research goals from the specific focus on cities and the political governance of transboundary challenges such as climate change, as it intersects with transnational human rights movements. The majority of her research covers topics at the intersection of global and local governance, including international organizations, international law, and (sub)state capacity. Her research emphases bear a thematic focus on the political economy of the climate and the environment. She received her B.A. in Diplomacy & World Affairs and French Studies with a minor in Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies at Occidental College.
