Programs of Study
Students completing a degree in Human Biology (Human Biology B.S. and Human Biology B.A.) are expected to acquire the ability and skills to understand and interpret the human organism. Courses offer a variety of fields to examine humans, including anatomy, physiology, metabolism, neurobiology, genetics, and behavior. Students will learn to conduct research in many different forms, communicate the outcome of an investigation, assess the contributions of research to the body of knowledge in Human Biology and understand how research data can be applied in an evolutionary context.

State of the Art Lab Experiences
With a focus on learner-centered, hands-on experiences using the latest web and computer technology.

Extensive Fossil Replica Collection
An extensive fossil replica collection of human ancestors along with many primate skeletons for the examination of human origins and their closest relatives in the Primate Order.

Real Life Application
Opportunities for the transfer of basic knowledge in Human Biology to be applied to real life situations.

Study Abroad
Opportunities for international experience via study abroad programs.

Research
Opportunities for high-level research in several areas, including the regulation of food intake, glucose intake and body weight, the regulation of blood glucose levels in Type 1 diabetes, the mechanics and neural control of movement, the biochemical basis of exercise performance, and the behavioral ecology of humans, their ancestors, and nonhuman primates to understand evolutionary origins.
