Diversity, equity and inclusion align with our values as a liberal arts college and our mission to create, preserve and communicate knowledge in all forms.

USC Dornsife intends to be the standard bearer among research universities in cultivating and celebrating an environment where people from all backgrounds and identities feel respected, included and welcome. We are expanding our effort to attract faculty and students from a range of backgrounds, while ensuring that they have access to every resource, network and opportunity that makes USC Dornsife a special place.

USC Dornsife in Action

The USC Dornsife community is committed to creating an environment that fosters diversity, equity and inclusion in all that we do. Whether it’s recruitment and retention, university climate, community engagement, research or student support, we are working together to address universal issues and make a positive impact for the greater good.

The first-of-its kind in the United States, Agents of Change, a undergraduate civil rights clinic gives students the opportunity to participate in a sequence of civil rights modules, focused on three perspectives—government operations, community organizing and legal advocacy.

Launched in 2020, the Latinx and Latin American Studies Center brings faculty, students and community partners together to engage in interdisciplinary research and public-facing scholarship that focuses on Latinx communities within the United States and Latin America.

Communities of Support

Transcending Walls Through Education

Both incarcerated students and USC students will find something of value in this experience, whether it be meeting someone they may not have likely met otherwise, expanding their communication skills, or finding shared interests in literature with a wide community.

Donors help make a USC Dornsife education possible, providing students an undergraduate experience that prepares them to be critical thinkers. USC Dornsife graduates are ready for future leadership roles and equipped with the skills needed to bring about positive change in the world – whether it’s through pursuing an advanced degree, entering the private sector, or beginning a career in public service.

    • USC Dornsife is home to centers, institutes and programs that promote and advance research in diversity, such as the Equity Research Institute and the Center for Latinx and Latin American Studies.

    • The greatest need for student access and affordability for USC Dornsife is funding to allow students who are already receiving full or partial financial aid scholarships to take full advantage of experiential learning opportunities. These experiences often provide exposure to different cultures, points of views and experiences that opens our student’s minds and perspectives.

    • USC Dornsife encourages students to support our local community through several programs. These programs, that serve underrepresented and minority communities, provide our students with valuable experiences, and expanded perspective while benefiting others. Programs include the Joint Educational Project, Agents of Change, Trial Advocacy, Prison Education Project and the Cecil Murray Institute for Civic Engagement, among others.
